“Building Boldly”

Towards September 2022, I finished reading "Build Boldly" by Bolanle Williams-Olley. My partner ordered the book when it was first released. Although it had already been on our bookshelf for almost a year, I was compelled to pick it up at the particular time I did. Honestly, I'd like to believe it was a spirit-led move. The book had somehow moved from the shelf to the coffee table, along with a few other books. On that particular day, as I was interrogating many of my big feelings, I glanced over at the table where the stack was, and immediately, "Build Boldly" was the first title to catch my eye. It felt like the answer to my million questions. When I say it was loud? Boy, was it LOUD! Truthfully, without even having to have read the book, that was the exact confirmation I needed. It was my prompt to start and work towards the direction of taking charge of the affairs of my life.

I had spent a good part of 2021 and 2022 postponing and stalling so many things that by the time I got to the end of 2022, I was exhausted! I had to push myself to ask the hard questions and then do the work to get the answers. Sometimes, they were right there in plain sight, and other times, I really had to dig deep.

Don't get me wrong, so many exciting things were happening for me, especially regarding love and friendships. That's one aspect of my life that seems to thrive even when everything else is crumbling. Still, these questions were for me outside of the safety of my love and relationships - What does Bethany want for herself? What does her big picture look like?
